Developed a culturally rooted brand identity and packaging system for Wassa,
a Malian spice producer entering the retail market.
Siera B is a young spice producer from Mali with a strong ambition: to enter the competitive retail market. She already had the foundation of her project an idea and a name: Wassa, which means “brave” in her culture. However, like many emerging entrepreneurs, she faced a major challenge: how to stand out among numerous spice producers while remaining authentic to her roots. She wanted more than just a product on a shelf. Her vision was to build a brand that felt vibrant, distinctive, and deeply connected to local production. At this stage, Wassa existed only as a name and an intention. There was no visual identity, no recognizable symbol, and no packaging strategy. The core challenge was to transform this idea into a clear and cohesive brand one that could visually communicate courage, color, culture, and quality.
